The aforementioned companies have their registered offices at Kurt-Schumacher-Strasse 18-20 in D-53113 Bonn, Germany. The data privacy statement covers all websites and products of the aforementioned companies (hereinafter referred to as the "product range"). In particular, these include the websites with the URLs www.foris.de and www.foris.com ("our Websites"). See the legal notice on the respective websites for information about the aforementioned companies.

For the collection, processing and use of your data, we must of course comply with the applicable data privacy regulations, in particular the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (TMG).

2. General section

2.1 Basic handling of personal data

Personal data is information that allows specific identification to be made of a person. Such data includes, specifically, information such as their title, name, address, telephone number, or email address.

Any use we make of your personal data is done only within the scope of supplying our services and products, and taking account of the legal basis. This information is in principle never transferred to third parties. Transfers of personal data to state institutions and authorities is only done within the context of mandatory national statutory provisions or where disclosure is necessary in the case of attacks on our network infrastructure or for civil or criminal law enforcement. Any other disclosure will not take place, unless specifically referred to in this data privacy statement.

2.2 Webserver logging

The FORIS Group or our webspace providers that operate within Germany collect data each time our products are accessed. In particular, the following access data is collected and stored until the server log files are automatically deleted, as defined by the applicable statutory provisions:

The FORIS Group or our webspace provider uses this access information only for statistical analysis for operational and security purposes and to improve our products. The FORIS Group does, however, reserve the right to verify the data in the log if there are clear indications that justify the suspicion of unlawful use.

2.3 Transfer of data to countries outside of the EU or the EEA

In principle, no information is transferred by the FORIS Group to countries outside the EU or the European Economic Area (EEA). However, we do use so-called social media plug-ins and web analysis tools, for which the technical operations are often carried out in the United States or other countries outside the EU or the EEA. In this respect, we refer to our information on the social media plug-ins as well as the web analysis tools in this data privacy statement.

2.4 Encryption

All communication between your browser and www.foris.com is encrypted (TLS or SSL for older browser versions). Therefore, all information you enter into contact forms is encrypted before transmission.

3. Specific section

3.1 Further use

The use of certain product-related items from the FORIS Group, such as order forms and newsletters and blog entries may require prior registration and more extensive processing of personal data. This may entail, for example, long-term storage of email addresses, telephone numbers, address information, passwords, or other relevant information. Such information is only used if you have provided it to us.

3.2 Contact functions

When contacting the FORIS Group (e.g. via the contact form or email) your information is stored for the purpose of processing the request, as well as in the event that any follow-up questions arise, and may be complemented with publicly available information.

3.3    Ordering functions

Should you request or purchase information materials, goods or services through our website, we only use your address data and other information provided for the purpose of processing the order and any additional processing relating to your inquiry or order.

3.4 Newsletters and mailings

In our newsletters and emailings, we keep you informed about our company and services. If you would like to receive our newsletter, we require at least a valid email address. Other data is not required. The aforementioned data will be used only for sending the newsletter and will not be forwarded to third parties. When you register for our newsletter, we will store your IP address and the date of the registration. Storage of this information will only used as proof in the event that a third party fraudulently used an email address and registers to receive newsletter without the knowledge of the owner of the email address. You can cancel your consent to the storage of your data, your email address as well as use of this data for the delivery of the newsletter at any time, by sending us an email via the relevant website. For information relating to emailings, we may need to access the address you have submitted. If you no longer wish to receive emails from us, you can inform us by sending an email or via the contact form on one of our websites.

3.5 Cookies

Cookies are small text files. They are stored locally in the cache of a user’s browser whenever our websites are accessed. On the one hand, cookies serve to recognise the web browser and can make the use of the website faster and more user-friendly (e.g., by storing login information). On the other hand, they enable the collection of statistical data for use by the website. The analysis helps the FORIS Group to improve and optimise its products and websites. You can decided how cookies are used. Most browsers have an option that restricts or completely prevents the storage of cookies. However, it should be pointed out that access to our products in general and the ease of use of our websites in particular will be restricted if cookies are not allowed.

3.6 Web analysis tools

The FORIS Group does not create any personal user profiles. As required by Section 15 (3) TMG, the use of user profiles for the purpose of advertising, market research and customising offers is allowed under a pseudonym provided you do not object to such use.

3.6.1 Google Analytics and Google Marketing

Our websites use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie when you use our websites (including your IP address) is transmitted to a Google server in the United States and stored there. Google will use this information to analyse your use of our website, compile reports on website activities for the website operator and provide further services related to website activity and internet usage.

Google will also transfer this information to third parties if required to do so by law, or if the third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Under no circumstances will Google link your IP address with any other data held by Google. You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting settings in your browser software; however, we should point out that in doing so you may not be able to use all the functions of our websites to the fullest extent. By using our websites, you agree to the processing of your data by Google in the manner described above and for the aforementioned purpose.
Authorisation for the collection and storage of data with Google Analytics may be revoked at any time which will impact future use. To do so, please use the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

Given the debate on the use of analysis tools with full IP addresses, we would like to point out that our websites use Google Analytics with the extension "_anonymizeIp()" and as such only abbreviated IP addresses are processed in order to prevent any direct personal link.

3.6.2 eTracker

Our websites uses the technologies of etracker GmbH (www.etracker.com) for the purposes of collecting and storing data as permitted under the TMG. User profiles can be created from these data under a pseudonym. Cookies may be used for this purpose. Cookies enable the internet browser to be recognised. The data collected using the etracker technologies will not be used to identify the visitor of this website personally without the separate consent of the person concerned, and are not stored together with the personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym. Authorisation for the collection and storage of data may be cancelled at any time which will impact future use. To do so, please use the following link: http://www.etracker.com/privacy?et=WEK6ys

3.6.3 Piwik

Our websites uses piwik technologies, an open-source web analysis Tool (www.de.piwik.org) for the purposes of collecting and storing data as permitted under TMG. User profiles can be created from these data under a pseudonym. Cookies may be used for this purpose. Cookies enable the internet browser to be recognised. The data collected using the piwik technologies will not be used to identify the visitor of our website personally without the separate consent of the person concerned, and are not stored together with the personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym.

Authorisation for the collection and storage of data may be cancelled at any time which will impact future use. To do so, please use the following link:

3.7 Social media plug-ins

Social media plug-ins are used to some extent on our websites. These may include, for example, Facebook (www.facebook.de), Twitter (www.twitter.de), YouTube (www.youtube.de), Google+ (www.google.de), LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com) or Xing (www.xing.de). The technical operations of these sites are often carried out in the United States or other countries outside of Germany and the EU, and are sometimes offered through national companies in the EU. For information about these providers, please refer to the relevant websites of the third-party providers. The plug-ins are displayed, for example, with the logo of the company, comment fields or a "Like" or "+1" button.

Whenever you access a page on our website through your web browser that includes such plug-ins, your browser will establish a direct connection to the servers of the third-party provider in their respective country.

Because of the integrated plug-ins, each third-party provider receives at least the information that you have visited a particular page of our products as well as potentially additional information about your web browser or the device you have used. The contents of the plug-in are uploaded from your web browser directly to the third-party provider and incorporated in our websites. If you are registered and logged in to the corresponding third-party provider, your visit may also be linked to your user account.
Whenever you interact with a plug-in, such as by clicking on a "like" button or leaving a comment in a field, this information is transmitted from your browser directly to the respective third-party provider and can potentially be stored, used and published by it.

If you do not want a third-party provider on our website to collect and evaluate these data, you can prevent this by disabling plug-ins in your web browser. In addition, if you want to avoid a link to a potentially existing user account, you must log out of these accounts before visiting our websites.
The purpose and scope of gathering and using the information described above are primarily marketing measures by the third-party provider. For details of this, as well as your rights and any settings to protect your privacy, please see the respective data privacy statements of the relevant third-party providers of such plug-ins.

By accessing our website, you agree to the above provisions.

3.8 Integration of third-party services and content

It may happen that third-party content, such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google maps, RSS feeds, or images from other websites are integrated within the scope of our product range. This presupposes at all times that the provider of such content (hereinafter referred to as "third-party provider") has access to the user’s IP address. Without the IP address, they are unable to send the content to the user’s browser. The IP address is thus required for the presentation of this content. We make every effort to only use content where the respective provider only uses the IP address for the delivery of said content. However, we have no control over whether a third party saves the IP address for statistical purposes. Whenever we are aware of this, we inform users about it.

3.9 Links to other websites

Our websites may contain links to third-party websites. The FORIS Group explicitly points out that this data privacy statement applies solely to the products supplied by the FORIS Group. We have no control over and do not verify whether other providers comply with the relevant statutory data privacy provisions.

4. Final remarks

4.1 Data security

We implement technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data that we manage against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are updated continuously in line with the state of the art.

4.2 Right to information & right of cancellation

As a user, you have the right to receive information about the personal data stored about you upon request and free of charge. In addition, as a user you have the right to correct any incorrect data, block or delete your personal data provided no statutory retention periods apply.

If you are registered as a user of individual services, we may also offer the ability to access the data yourself via a user account and, if necessary, to delete or modify them.

4.3 Contact person for data privacy issues

If you would like information on your personal data or want to correct or delete them, or if you have any questions about the use of the personal data you provided to us, you can contact us at datenschutz@remove-this.foris.de.

4.4    Acceptance, validity and current version of the data privacy statement

By using our site, you consent to the use of your data as described above. This data privacy statement is currently valid and is dated 15 July 2016.

Due to the continuous development of our product range and the implementation of new technologies, it may be necessary to change this data privacy statement. We reserve the right to change the data privacy statement at any time with effect for the future. We recommend that you check the updated data privacy statement from time to time.
